Pinot Noir 2020

11,50  TTC

A charming, silky and light Pinot Noir

Dry and fruity wine. Faithful to the Alsatian fruitiness but in its red version! Intense and deep color with purplish reflections.

Nose: fruity bouquet with a dominance of cherry-like black fruits.

Palate: intense and fragrant, ample with supple tannins. Persistent finish.

Muriel’s advice: This Pinot Noir can be drunk straight away but will reach its peak in 3 to 5 years. To taste with red meats, beef in sauce or roast, veal, goose rillettes, fish matelote, pot au feu, pâté en croute, potato gratin, tournedos, Brie, Mont-d’or, Coulommiers.

Vines : Our vines are on average 30 years old, from selected old varieties and grafted to the estate from generation to generation.
Divided into slopes and midslopes on 40 plots for an area of 8 ha. This diversity is found in the grapes of each plot.
The yield is reduced to less than 60 hl/ha.
We mow the grass 1 out of 2 rows and we work the soil of the other row by practising organic viticulture since the 1980s.
We started organic certification in 2019.
Our soils are alive, our vines are balanced, our grapes are «well in their skin».

Terroir : This wine was born in the plot “Rouffacherweg” meaning “Chemin de Rouffach”. This terroir is made up of large scree and rocks of Vosges pink sandstone, covered with beautiful deep soil rich in clay. A beautiful location with a good water reserve which gives the wine lots of fruit and elegance.
Exposure EastAltitude : 250 m

In the cellar : We taste the grapes to decide on the optimal harvest of each plot and achieve the best balance in sugar, acidity and taste.
Our pneumatic press allows a smooth and slow extraction. Our juices flow by gravity and then are naturally released to preserve all their aromas.
Our fermentations engage with the indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, without temperature control. They take on a different rhythm depending on the character and energy of each wine. In equilibrium, air extraction and a single sulphiting are sufficient for stability. This is followed by lees breeding, kieselguhr filtration, and bottling at the estate.
We reserve our wines to offer their best potential.
