Terroir composed of clay deposits and scree of pink sandstone from the Vosges (tertiary origin). It is not uncommon to find boulders and large boulders of sandstone a few inches from the surface.
The plots are located to the south and east of the village halfway up the slopes, altitude between 235 and 300 m.
The marls bring aromatic intensity, the sandstones complexity and freshness with a persistent salinity.
The wines are complex, saline and gastronomic.
